How Moshav Aderet stayed in our hearts

    Country Living in Israel

Hubby and I had always wanted to settle down in a religious community in the countryside in the middle of England somewhere!
The two do not necessarily go together!
The Cotswolds, Devon, a cottage opposite a field of sheep?
Sounds just like your kind of environment right? This was our dream too!

However, as a religious jewish couple, we needed to be within a community that we could raise our children, be with other dati jews, be within close walking distance to a shul and and enjoy a community of other families like ourselves with similar aged children.

Aliya would be our answer!

We decided that we wanted to raise our children in Israel and to be in a community filled with families with same values and beliefs like ourselves.

After having visited various different communities, we settled in Nofei Aviv,
Bet Shemesh.  What an amazing place! The softest landing in Israel.

The people were similar to us, we made wonderful friends and there were /are shiurim and various different committees which volunteer and help others in times of need and lots of children running around!

We lived in Bet Shemesh for 10 years!  Everything was great and we really felt that we had found 'our community'.

One of the communities that we had visited before settling in Nofei Aviv was Moshav Aderet, a rural neighbourhood just  7-8 minutes from Ramat Bet Shemesh.

In order to travel to this country community one has to  drive up a windy hill which has the most glorious views to the left which I was told are impossible to tire from.

So, after having visited this rural 'oasis' we were in awe of the view and the clean air and the friendly and welcoming community.

Our three UK born children grew and BH we added another couple of kids to our brood and we were very happy living in such a great shchuna in Bet Shemesh.

Over the years however, Moshav Aderet would pop in to our minds...the idea of living in 'The Countryside' made our mouths water!
