Making the most of our kids!
So, on a Saturday afternoon whilst the hubby was napping, I decided to dedicate myself to the play needs of my two youngest kids, my 4 year old little girl and my 8 year old son.
It could have been so easy to sleep instead of spending time with my little ones!
I opened up our outdoor sofa on the patio and made it comfy and lay there in the wind and the shade and my 4 year old played next to me calmly with her red hair glistening in the sun rays poking through our pergola. Delicious moments. That is what I've named these particular times.
I just can't comprehend how fast my little moon has grown!
As we lay in the shade together we just stared in to eachother's eyes and told eachother stories. Yes my little moon can tell stories! They may not make perfect sense but the enthusiasm with which she explains the details could excite even the most unchild friendly human being in this extraordinary world that we live in.
After a while, perhaps an hour or so, I mentioned that I was feeling hungry. My daughter asked me if she could make me a sandwich.
MY little girl of only 4 years old making ME a snack! I could have snacked on her right there and then!
Off she ran and disappeared in to the house. A few minutes later she returned with a slice of bread with Peanut butter!
"My beautiful little moon!" I exclaimed excitedly.
"You are so grown up and so clever!"
She giggled and sat down on the sofa next to me and we shared the sandwich..."Mmm" we both said in unison.
Soon my 8 year old son came out to join us and suddenly it was a race against time...who would hug me first?
Suddenly I wasn't so comfy anymore on the sofa just with my little Moon.
My son wanted in and he wanted his fair share of the cuddles.
I thought to myself as they both clambered on to me, how lucky I am and how incredible it is to have children who enjoy just relaxing with their Mum in the shade on a Windy Saturday afternoon.
So no nap, but what a relaxing afternoon my children had with their childfriendly Mum!
